Ashanti Douglas, popularly called Ashanti and was born in Glen Cove New York United States on the 13th of October, 1980. She is an actor as well as a vocalist from the United States. Ashanti was first discovered when she was an 18-year-old and was joined Murder Inc. Records in 2002. In the same year, she made an appearance on Fat Joe's What's Luv? She also appeared on the Fat Joe's hit song"What's Luv?" She became the first female artist to hold the top two spots on the Billboard Hot 100 list in the United States with Foolish at number one and The song What's Luv? What's Luv? Tina Douglas, her mother was a former teacher of dance. Ken-Kaide Douglas is her father. Kenashia Shia is her younger sister. Douglas has named her in honour of the Ashanti Empire in Ghana where women held power and influence and Douglas was hoping for Ashanti to follow the same model. Blige Reminisce. Ashanti was a character as a kid for Spike Lee's Malcolm X (1992) and Ted Demme's Who's the Man? There were also a couple of cameos in music videos including K.R.S.-Act One's MC's Didn't and 8-Off's Ghetto Girl. After being courted by various record labels like Bad Boy and Jive Ashanti tried to get noticed as a singer. The singer continued to tour throughout New York, and spent in the Murder Inc. studios hoping for a breakthrough. Ashanti originally appeared on Big Pun's song How We Roll as a backing singer. Ashanti also sang on the Fat Joe's song"What's Luv?" and Ja Rule's Always on Time. In her debut song Foolish The song is a cover of DeBarge's Me from 1983 is sampled. Ashanti's first self-titled album, was released by The album by Irv's Murder Inc. in 2002 was Ashanti. The Declaration her fourth studio album, was out on June 3rd, 2008. Hey Baby (After The Club) was released on radios as well as digital platforms on 16 October. The film in which she starred was Christmas in the City and was Latasha Montclair on Army Wives. Aitch an British artist, used her music in his song Rock wit U for Baby in 2022, on the 10th of March.
